Many years ago, a shop opened at the ‘Crossroads’ in the center of the village of Horta de Sant Joan selling household necessities and farm tools. Decades passed and the space is now home to La Creuera, a shop dedicated to showcasing handmade, local and sustainably produced goods. At its heart it is a shop of stories, stories of makers, materials and techniques. From organic eco print textiles; to hand thrown ceramics by the descendants of the renown potters of Miravet; skin care products made from local organic oils and botanicals; to artworks inspired by the spectacular natural landscapes of the Terra Alta; every item contains the tale of its maker, their skills and the traditions from which they evolved.
